Start

Now that the Yellow Blue & YOU magazine is online, we need your help to bring it to the attention of your social media followers.

Do’s and Don’ts

DO: Be detailed & informative when launching the digital magazine. Tell your customers what they can expect from this edition and the benefits they will gain by reading it. For example, you could write something like this: ‘Welcome to our NEW e-magazine. In this edition we will show you how to check your combine after storing it away over the winter, inform you about our dedicated Parts and Servicing offers & give you some top tips surrounding the maintenance of your machine!’

DON’T: be too generic. Avoid launching the magazine in a generic manner like so: ‘Yellow Blue & You is online. Read the new issue now’

By following the advice above, you’ll create interest and increase the likelihood of your customers engaging with your post. When they see it, they will be more inclined to like it, comment on it or share it.

Editorial planning

Every new issue of your magazine and each article in it has its own URL (address). By this your are able to share each article individually on social media, without sharing the whole magazine each time.
  • Create an editorial schedule to keep an overview (excel tables or simply using your calendar might also work for you).
  • Share your articles at reasonable intervals, for example: once a week
  • Think of the right order, in which you want to share your content. For example, start with current news followed by reports, product innovations, buy/sales congratulations and then pleased customers testimonials.
  • The chosen content order should be diverse, to avoid making your readers lose interest.

Tips to increase social media awareness

  • The awareness of business pages is limited on most social media channels. For example on Facebook or Instagram, due to the fact that providers want you to pay to advertise your posts and products. It is recommended to advertise your own posts, even small budgets could increase your social media reach tremendously.
  • Link others: companies, cooperation partners, team members in your posts. By doing so these parties will be aware of your post and might engage with it by liking or even sharing it. This is also enhancing the exchanging networking.
  • If possible, ask your team members and employees to share the articles or even create their own related posts on their own social media profiles. The organic reach of private accounts is much more powerful on social media than the unpaid reach of business accounts.
  • Where applicable make use of hashtags to draw the attention of people searching exactly for related words and topics to your posts and profile. However, the impact of hashtags is limited. They especially make sense on Instagram and Twitter and are not much of a use on Facebook.
